
Fitting Policy

1. Scope of This Policy
This Fitting & Installation Policy applies to all installation, fitting, and on-site works carried out by Media Rooms Ltd (“we”, “us”, “our”) at customer premises.
By accepting a quotation, booking an installation, or allowing works to commence, you agree to the terms set out in this policy.
2. Pre-Installation Requirements
Prior to the installation date, the customer must ensure:

Clear and safe access to the installation area

Walls, ceilings, and surfaces are suitable for installation

Any required electrical, structural, or building works have been completed unless agreed otherwise in writing

Accurate information has been provided regarding wall construction (e.g. stud, solid brick, plasterboard), cabling routes, and concealed services
We are not responsible for delays or additional costs caused by incomplete or inaccurate pre-installation information.
3. Electrical & Building Works
Unless explicitly agreed in writing:

We are not responsible for electrical works beyond basic connection of supplied equipment

We do not carry out structural alterations
-
Any third-party electricians, builders, or decorators remain the responsibility of the customer
If additional work is required on-site and falls outside the agreed scope, this may result in:

Additional charges
-
Rescheduling of the installation
4. Installation Method & Fixings
We use industry-standard methods and fixings appropriate to the information provided and visible site conditions.
By authorising installation, the customer acknowledges that:

Drilling, fixings, and cable routing may cause minor cosmetic impact
-
We are not responsible for pre-existing defects or hidden weaknesses in walls or surfaces
-
We cannot be held liable for failure of fixings caused by unsuitable or concealed wall conditions
5. Concealed Services
While reasonable care is taken, we cannot guarantee detection of all concealed services (including pipes, cables, or structural elements).
The customer confirms that:

They are not aware of any concealed hazards in the installation area
-
They accept responsibility for any undisclosed or unknown services
6. Completion & Sign-Off
Upon completion:
-
The installation will be demonstrated where practical
-
The customer (or their representative) should inspect the work
-
Any concerns must be raised immediately or within 48 hours of completion
Once the installation is signed off or accepted, it is deemed complete.
7. Call-Backs & Additional Visits
Call-backs may be chargeable where issues arise due to:

Customer-requested changes
-
Third-party interference
-
Network, internet, or device changes not supplied by us
-
Power issues or building changes after installation
Any additional visits will be quoted separately.
8. Customer-Supplied Equipment
Where customers supply their own equipment:

We cannot guarantee compatibility or performance
-
No warranty is provided on customer-supplied items
-
Fault diagnosis relating to third-party equipment may be chargeable
9. Warranty on Workmanship
We warrant our installation workmanship for 12 months from the installation date.
This warranty does not cover:

Manufacturer defects (covered by manufacturer warranty)

Accidental damage
-
Misuse or unauthorised modifications
-
Environmental issues (e.g. damp, heat, movement of building fabric)
10. Health & Safety
We reserve the right to refuse or suspend work if:

The site is unsafe
-
Adequate access or working conditions are not provided
-
Health & safety risks are identified
In such cases, additional charges or rescheduling fees may apply.
11. Cancellations & Rescheduling
Installations cancelled or rescheduled with less than 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a call-out or rebooking fee.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Media Rooms Ltd shall not be liable for:

Indirect or consequential losses
-
Damage arising from undisclosed site conditions
-
Losses caused by third-party works or customer interference
Nothing in this policy limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
13. Governing Law
This policy is governed by the laws of England and Wales.
